The main pump washers needed replacing. They worked for an hour or so then broke up. Only a hundred years old. Shoddy materials... First circular blanks were cut from 4mm leather. These blanks were boiled in parrafin wax until air bubbles stopped coming out. They were then placed over the cylinder & pushed into the bore using the pump disks & the press. The wooden blocks hold everything central until it enters the bore.
